I think it would be great when you create a character to have the option of creating it as an "ironman" character. What this means is this character will have to stand on his own 2 feet and not be able to receive assistance from other characters. In order to do this his option to send and receive items should be removed and since the market could otherwise be used as a loophole to send and receive items his ability to buy and sell on the market should be removed as well.
This would make an interesting player adaptation due to his need to balance the items he keeps compared to what he gets rid of , also he would have only his own drops to build his best possible equipment.
This would make it mean something if you managed to keep this character in the top of the boards ........
I'm not sure what affect the intended changes for the next version would have on this but the idea to be able to play a character unable to receive outside help would probably still work and be interesting.
Any thoughts ?

I like the idea of a character that stands on her own legs! But, if the ironman character had any advantages, it wouldn't be an ironman character anymore! So no extra drops, please! Oh, and of course it should be visible on their profile that they were this type of character! I'm not too fond of the ironman name, though. Is there any WoT related name that could signify a character that is self-sufficient?

We could call them "Golems" after the guy that is chasing Matt...i know it really doesnt have anything to do with standing alone...but at least its something else you can incorporate into the game...

Perhaps instead of making it an option at creation, I could just set a flag on all accounts. If you haven't traded or bought from the market, then there'd be a little symbol on your bio to show it. Probably put it next to your name on Heroes page as well. As soon as you trade or market buy, the flag gets set and you lose it for good. Would be a lot easier to implement that way and would make it so if you change your mind about not trading later on, no biggie.

That sounds even better, yes That way you have to actually have some discipline and stand by your choice, too! The weak-willed will stray, and only the strongest will persist I like it!

reasonable compromise .......... not sure I would be able to manage the restraint as soon as i have the option of selling off a lucky talisman in order to clear space in my inventory lmao ...........

Now this is why I like this better! I'd be the only one with that flag after a few weeks! ;D

Well, i think that you should be able to sell in the market and in transfers, since selling wont give you much advantage, even if you sell overpriced items to your friends... if you cant buy talismans then you are still playing alone basically...

no - getting 'overpriced' sales is important - now that the base equipment drop is less frequent, I find myself 'buying equipment all the time from shops. Talis drop like crazy.

yes, you buy items all the time, but you get enough gold without needing to sell overpriced, pretty easy... i dont think anyone has problems getting gold for their items...

All this talk about affording items being easy... I guess I'll have to work harder to get degrading weapons in.

If items will be degradable, there should be a way for you to restore them. Because if you get a really awesome combination of Talismans for an item, and the item breaks, you wasted a lot of time and money.
