Food has acted pretty much like all the other consumables since I added them. However, unlike other consumables odds are you don't want your food to stick around in your stomach extra long. Sure they have minor stat bonuses they add, but you can get way better stats from other types. Food just takes up space in your stomach. Investing in cooks just make it last longer and there's VERY little difference in old food and fresh food (I almost always buy old because it's cheap). So I'm planning to mix things up a bit. Consumable base digestion rates Consumables | Quality 1 | Quality 2 | Quality 3 | Quality 4 | Food | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | Herb | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | Drinks | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
The Medic and Brewer profession will still add up to 4 turns of digestion to their respective consumables (bumping them up to 9 turns for high quailty consumables used by a expert). Cook will now lower digestion time by up to 4 turns, meaning a high quality piece of food used by an expert cook will digest in just 1 turn. I'm still a little hesitant on that, but we'll see how it goes. I also plan to tweak what each food item adds slightly, but I'll cover that in another post.
