Just an idea I thought I'd throw out in front of everyone:
What if we made horses and backpacks/carts tradeable items, like weapons and other equipment? I mean, wouldn't it be wonderful if you could set yourself up as a horse-trader or something? It would also inject a little human interference into traveling (well-mounted raiding parties from neighboring cities anyone?) and give the Clans a chance to be involved in yet another aspect of the game (giving horses to Clan-members).
Any thoughts? Does it seem like a good idea to anyone?

I'd go for it! but how exactly will you set it up? Will you randomly win horses in battles or what?

I was figuring it would be more along the lines of: you buy them in the stable, and they go into your inventory (so to speak) from which you can sell them to people on an installment plan, or something.
Although,
Now that you mention it, maybe you could breed horses, or something. Kind of like the old resources system, except that, instead of having a "market" you'd have to actually sell them to real people.... Perhaps it could tie into the whole housing idea we discussed a while ago.

There could be a whole line of things you could do. In the books it tells you all different kinds of horses etc... Maybe you could get benefits from breeding in certain areas. Tairen Bloodstock... Razors... you know there's alot there! I'm sure others could make better ideas from using those but whatever Oh it also might be alot of work

Interesting idea, though like Brom said, it'd be a lot of work. Still worth looking into though.

I assume if you breed in the two rivers you get a Shaggy old Mare named Bela, who lives through everything and i greater than any horse you could ever breed anywhere else.

I hope we can breed 'em because I just noticed that they got very expensive!

How about instead of trading horses, you can buy them as a gift for someone? Be sort of like trading, except there would be a little "gift" button beside the "buy" one. Then you just search for the person you want to give it to, and it goes to them.
Although i suppose that would rule out breeding...for now...but in the short term, it'd be easier to implement.

Not a bad idea, Morgaine. I'd back it.
