GoS V7 Tournaments!

Alright, we need a few things. We need to know who's participating. We need rules. And we need times. 1 shot 1 kill? Best of 3? Brackets? Who fights who will have to depend on who joins. Post here if you wanna fight!

i'll give it a go.. i suggest brackets (NCAA style).. total of ten battle per round (five offensive, five defensive) best of ten to the next round... in the event of a tie, combatents should go nekkid and only use their skill and herbs and one weapon of choice...... ; )

brackets should refresh every 24 hours... times to get combatents onlineat the same time would be a pain in the butt, so you get your five offensive whenever you are on... shame on the other guy for not being awake for the fight !!!!

Thanks Vic . Fearless, I think you've got the right idea. As far as location, perhaps a different city for each level of matches? All 1st round contestants fight in Caemlyn. All second round contestants fight in Tar Valon. All 3rd round contestants fight in Rhuidean. Thats if theres 3 rounds lol. Subject to change depending on the number of contestants

I've been thinking on how we can make sure things are as accurate as possible. I suggest that, with Tim's approval, I make a whole board for this, and each match would get its own thread. The attacker would copy and past the battle details in their post and the defender would copy and paste their defense log. If they don't match up, the battle must be done over.

The other problem I see is match ups. Can anyone think of a good way to fairly choose who fights who? Oh, and what about a prize? I would be willing to donate gold, weapons, armor, ter'angreal, whatever, but what if I won lol.

Maybe the prize could come from Mr. The Creator. Maybe, a Ter'angreal or any other item of the winner's choice, or maybe a small pile of cash?

I'm ok with 5 duels each, but 3 each sounds better since it's 5 mins between each duel. Played out like Fearless said, when your on, you hit your opponent, and when they're on, they hit you. Only the first 3 in your battle log from that day count, or maybe only 3 allowed that day.

As for the town it's held in, we should probably consider the clan bonuses. For instance, if we fight in the greatest, most awesome of all towns in the game, Fal Dara, I get an extra +6%defense and Health Gain. You all wouldn't. I know it's not much of an advantage, but to make it fair, you shouldn't be allowed to park in your own town. Though if you choose to park in your opponents town, that should be allowed. Maybe the wilderness around a specific town?

Also, what about alts? Should we be allowed to enter them? It'd be easier to fill out brackets, but you might have to duel yourself, which doesn't sound as fun.

I'm fine a new board being set up Ed. Whatever helps keep things interesting.

And if you guys work out something, I can probably be talked into supplying a reasonable prize or two. Open to suggestions for what's good. I like the ter of choice idea. Seems more rewarding than cash to me.

Thanks Tim! Ter'angreal of your choice sounds great! Alright. 3-5 battles each sounds good to me KR. And I think we should be able to enter alts, but only 1 and only to fill out brackets if need be. We will just have to make sure no one fights themselves lol.

Doesn't the game coding prevent you from fighting your own alts anyway?
Maybe if a bracket comes up that way, the player gets to choose which alt progresses?

Maybe ter'angreal of choice - rigged to have no point cost? ;-)

Hey Tim - could you rig a special "Champion" title that would stick in the player's profile title list permanently, or at least until another tournament?

You can fight alts, you just don't get experience.

Can't rig it to be free. Would take some altering of the code, as opposed to altering the database to create a ter'angreal to give you.

And sorry, but no special title. At least in this version.

the tourament could be "pay to play"... all entryy fees go to the kitty, 1st takes 50% 2nd takes 30% and third takes 20%... i would probably pay 10 gold to have KR kick my butt......
