Been quite around here, so I thought I'd kick the discussion a bit. One of the things I plan on doing for V7 is overhauling the item system and related things. What improvements would you guys like to see done related to items?I was gonna make this a poll, but figured this way you might come up with some ideas I didn't. Feel free to mention some of the older suggestions too, as it could lead to new discussion on them. Fire away! (I'll probably regret this choice of words... )

i would like to see some kind of skill going into weapon use. like a farmer with a heron marked sword couldnt beat a master swordsman even if that guy had a stick (cuz lets face it, the master swordsmen in WoT kick a$$ haha). not sure how that would work though

Is there really a use for the talis that add negative stats, or are they just filler left over from the Craig years? Nothing worse than finding broken talis. That's all I have for now. Though, from what I understand, fire damage was pretty freakin cool. (Can't believe alSeen missed that)

would be nice to be able to find a cuellinder (sp?) tali that you could hang on an item so that it would not degrade overtime..... or perhaps a TRUE power wrought item, made with the one power that would never need to be repaired... (these would be ideal candidates for special quests in restricted areas)

oh and of course unique weapons (with quest, althought the quest needs to disappear fast so only a few people get the item, or just one does) and make heron-marked blades be given to winners of tournaments. that way only the best get it

I'd like to set a weight for gear. There should be advantages in terms of speed and dodge for those who wear lighter gear. That way people could chose whether to have a good block score or to be deft.
That could be a way of distinguish items: not only by how powerful they are, but by a balance of stats and weight.
I know, some heavy items already have a speed penalty, but that doesn't work the other way round, meaning that doesn't award those who wear lighter. Rather than including this kind of penalties/bonuses in the item's stats, they should come as a consequence of the total weight carried. Example: if I don't wear any armor nor knife but I wield a Great Axe, I get -1 speed from it, even though its weight alone shouldn't be a bother by itself.
