I've noticed a few times now that I'll unload some stuff from inventory, go back out to a wilderness to gather new stuff, and receive some of the same items again in drops. I wrote it off as coincidence, mostly, until now... I just sent Talis of Dragonsworn, Wolfkin, and Red Eagle to the clan vault - a full set of that strain of talis. I went back out to run NPCs, and got ALL THREE of the same talis back, in drops from 10 battles... Tim - are you messing with us in some devious code-y way?   |

Well, as you get higher level you get access to 'better' talisman ('better' is subjective; generally this means adds more stats). This continues until you have access to all talismen, which should happen around level 40. After that, you chances of getting the top level talismen increases as you get higher. I'd have to do some checking to see, but I'd guess those 3 are towards the top.
Still kinda a coincident that you got all 3 back to back...

actually, that leads to another question I'd been meaning to ask - does the +Luck stat affect the 'grade' of items that you get in drops, or just the frequency of drops?

As far as I know it only affects the drop rate, not the quality (that one is affected by your level).
It should be that way anyway.
About your problem Almordre, as we say: 'you gather what you sow' ;D

Crom's right. Luck effects you chances of finding an item and the amount of gold you steal from opponents in duels.

so I have a sneaky rags of brigands, and I get + 18 luck, Tommy thinks it is affecting the drops he gets, ( apparently he is wrong) and I cant even use the rags b/c its 225 pts! terrible rags I know, but it improves drop rate!! WOO HOO!!!(((more like I dont want to use the rags anways)))

it only works if your wearing them. so how do u get 18 points if u cant use them?
