2 ideas to make random battles less dull. The first should be easy to encode and could eventually be included in V4, the other is for later.
1) Titles and awards for top monsters-slayers: Set win counters for battles against each type of NPCs, and display a concerning title in the current top player's profile page. E.g.: I have the most wins against myrdraals, then I detain the Myrdraal-Slayer title. This would set a "side-objective" for lower rank players. (on a side note, this could apply to PVP duels too, giving for instance an award to the Aes Sedai who killed more Mad Male Channeler and so on)
2) Limited availability of monster encounters in wilderness areas: Limit NPCs number for each area, so people would have to go hunting them in other wilderness areas. Monsters would then recreate after a random time. Updating monsters' number in real time for every players would make one player's killings affect other players' moves. E.g.: If too many players are NPC battling in the same area, that will run out of game, and people will be forced to go hunting somewhere else. This would not only make people travel around more, but also create new strategies in clan wars.
Sorry for the probably excessive flow of ideas, I can't stop conceiving...

Titles would go very well with the new Quest system.

I really like idea 1. I think the Heroes page needs some work, as I can be a bit of a stat's junkie sometimes, and this might make a nice addition. Not sure if I'd start out with all possible NPCs (a lot to keep track of...), but perhaps categories like Shadowspawn, Channelers, Animals, Exotic Animals (the Seanchan ones), and Fighters (all your normal, human npcs. Would likely think of a better name). Something like that would be easier to track. No promises it'll make V4, but I do want to add more stats to track on the heroes page, so it's a good possibility.
Not quite sold on the second idea, as it could make quests difficult to do, but I do like the complexities it would add to clan stratagies. Definately a thought to keep in mind for future versions.
And I don't think your flow of ideas is excessive. My brain can only think of so much. The more ideas you guys suggest, the better off the game is in the long run.

First off: the first idea would be great - especially if there were an option for hunting specific types of creatures when exploring (I have a couple of ideas for how that could be done, which I'll explain if anyone likes the basic idea).
Second idea: I LOVE it! Especially in the context of Clan strategies and such. Swamping the areas around an enemy clan's base so they can't get any hunting done would be a great way of drawing them out to either expose players to easier defeat, but weaken the town's defense. Effectively, it could open up GOS to siege warfare.

the 2nd idea is by far what we need. PEOPLE STILL DONT MOVE AROUND! taking towns is basically a waste of time now if people can just spend hours clicking explore with all their alts. this would make it SO much cooler

Obviously there's no such character class as mad channeler , and, with no more playable darkfriends classes in V4, I think this last spec can easily be ignored
