So it's not really a secret that I plan on adding in character classes in v3. I'm curious as to what classes you'd be interested in playing most. Rather than put up a poll with limited options, I figured I'd leave it up to you guys to choose. Simply reply to this thread and on your first line by itself post what class (or classes) you want to play most. I can't promise you that everything you guys want will be in there (I can all but promise you they won't), but I'd like to be able to incorporate the big ones somehow. They way I'm planning on setting it up, I can always add more later. This poll won't necessarily mean that whoever the top vote getters are get in, but mainly just gives me an idea of what you guys are looking for. And things have been getting quite here... Choose away!

lets see, ashaman(of course); dreadlords; a class for the Legion (i think called legionares?); aes sedai; also will the classes have a certain weapon preference? like aes sedai could be very strong with weaves, ashaman could have swords and weaves(but not as powerful as other classes with only one weapon)

Darkfriends (proficiency with taint, maybe a certain percentage pre-added)
Whitecloaks (proficiency with something that reflects their ability to brainwash people...maybe stun).
Edit: no personal preferences at the moment. I like a variety of classes in D&D, and I imagine I would feel the same way here. Just make sure the classes are balanced, i.e. Channelers shouldn't be able to beat the daylights out of everyone else like they did in the old game.

I would like to see the channeler class go from channeler, then, give the person, male or female, the choice to become a wilder or a dreadlord. Of course, I'm a bit biased in that I claim the title Asha'man for my clan..... But still, starting out neutral and then making the choice between light and dark as you progress seems like a good idea to me. Ogier could advance to either Treesinger for Light or Gardener for Dark.

Definitely channelers. Either as one class or as the various aes sedai, ashaman, wise ones etc. Good with weaves, less good with other weapons (except possibly knives, just to give them something other than weaves) Also Aiel, though I'm not sure about the dodge, they seem to attack with no care for the risk of getting hit. Rather a big attack bonus, with def negatives (since they don't wear that much armour...) Warders, good with swords, also health bonus, since they get that from their bond. Er yes, I guess there'd have to be darkfriends and things like that.
Too sleepy and hungry now, will think more on this!

no care for the risk of getting hit? Aiel?
the most ji comes from being able to touch your opponent in battle, i would say you better be dang good at dodging if you want to get close enough to someone wielding a spear in order to do that. the lack of armor is not only probably from fighting in the heat, but staying agile in battle as well.
If anything warders should get a -dodge or defense bonus with all the "sheathing your sword talk" throughout the books
Tim i know you don't want to let out to much before the release, but how would you end up applying these "bonuses" to each class. Would they also have a negative effect to help counter each bonus, would it give a straight bonus (i.e. +4 dodge, which would be more beneficial in the start of the game) or percent increases which could be more beneficial mid to late game when combined with higher level talis?

Rey, the answer to your question is likely a little bit of all the things you listed. Balance will be the key. I'm guessing that when I open the Test site for v3 things will be sorta chaotic and lopsided at first, but hopefully based on what you guys find I can get it mostly balanced before the v3 launch.

ok u also HAVE to let us pick between the dark one and the light. even if it doesnt help us at all. oh and aiel would have to get better dodge since nobody can hit them except by either being lucky, EXTREMELY skilled, or another Aiel

also have a class for the Legion. it is a large group of people in the books. the Dragon reborn's soldier so dont they deserve something? they would be good at bows and swords, cuz thats what they use in the books. and they hide very well. had to in the books.

Channelers...gotta have channelers. I would like the choice between Light and Shadow, but not the lame way it was before, where useful skills, like Balefire, were Shadow, and useless skills, Like Warding, were Light, or when it became even worse with melee being Shadow and wanderers being Light. It should be a moral choice with it's own skill tree, that is, you make the choice first, then you get the skill tree for that path, but you can be either a good or evil channeler, or wanderer, or whatever, with equal but different skills down each path. I guess that would be a lot of work, though.

To me the aiel are more using speed than dodge. Dodge implies cowardly to me, and aiel wouldn't do that. Speed is what you get when you're too fast for your opponent... But seems like I'm very much outvoted...

all speed does is let u go first and attack a few times in a row. dodge just means people cant hit them. maybe Aiel should have both?
