maybe I was just too tired or something, but I was having a hard time navigating with the key on the in-game map, so for myself and anyone else who wants a line-based map, here's a quickie version that should get you around... no warranty expressed or implied, offer void where prohibited, see official rules for details, your mileage may vary...

Alright alright lol. When I did it, it seemed too clustered and confused. Too busy. I thought people would be able to figure the map legend out more easily. If thats what you want, thats what you'll get. I'll prepare an official one with connecting lines.

Sorry, Edvar - not trying to buck your stuff. With the four-connection-per-location standard and a wilderness between everything, some things simply don't connect to what's nearest or follow the "established" travel paths from the books. Moving around required more thinking than I could handle on a weekend, so I drew a picture. (I built this one in Illustrator - I can send you the original if it'll help or save you any time or anything.)

What I would really love (and this could be a possible benefit for donations, or part of benefit, since it would just be handy, and not have an influence on how well you'd do) would be a feature like they have on travel sites, where you enter (or even click) on the location you want to reach, and you get an itenarary with the fastest way to get there. That would completely remove the thinking part of orientation But I want the map, too!

You know....I might just be able to do that. I am taking a Flash class right now and learning how to do things like that. As a matter of fact, you can count on a map like that for V4.

Silly Ed. Now you're trapped. Never commit to something for the next release this early. I've learned that the hard way.

Actually, I had wanted to do something similar for this version. The thought had occurred to me as I tried to figure out a way to present the map without cluttering it. I just didn't have time this version...and, in truth, I am still learning in that area and it may even still be beyond me, but I have an idea of how to do it and I am learning. You will have it in V4. Make no mistake about that.

I've already given you good karma for it, so you'd better deliver now But thanks, I'm really looking forward to it!
