Don't know if this is intentional or not but when you combine tail's+item it can come out to much higher price then the added totals.
example:
I had an exquisite of strongarms tail worth ~3k I combined it with a quarter staff ~7k
resulting item was worth 24.3k
This could be used to stock up on a lot of gold quickly and easily when we get to a bit higher levels and have access to higher level items to combine...

Not so much an error or intentional as it is a fact of the system. Price is exponentially related to the number of points an item is worth. So the higher you get points wise, the much more quickly the price rises. Talismen, especially those that effect those points based on a percentage, will raise an items points total by a different amount depending on the item it's used on. This makes the price of talismen themselves very deceptive.
This can lead to cases like the one mentioned above. It is actually for this exact reason that talismen aren't available at shops. I think the result is getting a little extreme (the resulting price in the example above is more than double the 2 prices combined...), but an unsure what to do about it. Thoughts?

If it is exponentially related things might get a bit crazy once we start combining high level items and tail's... would it be difficult to script checks before and after and set a restriction on how much higher the product can be?

In some of the past versions this was intentional, and I would leave it as it is

I'm not sure at this point what or even if things need done. My biggest concern is inflation, as money will become very easy to come by and therefore everything becomes worthless. Perhaps I'll change it so items sell for less, but stil cost the same.
It would be quite a challenge to script a limit on the price change, as the price is not stored in a database. It is generated based off the stats of the item. Plus I'd have to take special care that an item enchance by a prefix tali, then a suffix tali would end up the same price as the item enhanced by both at the same time. Besides, if that were done, price would lose all correlation to the items stats, which is something I've been trying to avoid since Craig's version.
