Normally a little while after launch I do a poll or an open thread about what you guys think. This time I'm gonna get a little more in depth. Here's a survey of 10 questions to try to get a feel of what you guys think. A lot of them are questions I've asked you guys before, but I hope some things change as improvements are made. Please copy and paste the questions below and answer them in your response. If anyone doesn't want to take the time to answer the questions but still has something to say about V7, feel free to just do a normal post in this thread too. Thanks for the input in advanced! 1. How long have you been playing GoS? 2. What starting class is your favorite and why? 3. What battle stats (damage, accuracy, speed, etc) do you tend to use the most? Least? 4. What's the favorite new addition to the game in V7 (or new since the last version you played, or just favorite if you're new to the game )? 5. What's the biggest thing about the game that you think needs improved on and why? 6. If you could add one new feature to GoS, what would it be? 7. If you could remove one current feature from GoS, what would it be? 8. How long do you typically actively play a version? 9. What is it about GoS that you like enough to keep playing (other than the other players; talking about the game itself)? 10. What is your favorite color?

1. How long have you been playing GoS?I played a couple of Craig's versions, then started yours almost a year and a half ago. 2. What starting class is your favorite and why?I'm not sure anymore. 3. What battle stats (damage, accuracy, speed, etc) do you tend to use the most? Least? Those tend to be the three I go for most. The least would probably be Poison. Nothing against it, just never use it. 4. What's the favorite new addition to the game in V7 (or new since the last version you played, or just favorite if you're new to the game )?I like the new inventory. 5. What's the biggest thing about the game that you think needs improved on and why?Clan warfare/town ownership. I've always been about the clan in the game, less about the individual side. So improvements in these areas would add something imo. 6. If you could add one new feature to GoS, what would it be?Other than the previous two things, I'd like to see some Cheetos for sale at the Inns. 7. If you could remove one current feature from GoS, what would it be?I don't really hate anything, but if I had to pick, I'd say Draghkar. Stupid Draghkar, and their stupid Taint. 8. How long do you typically actively play a version?I don't know, depends on what's going on. I usually play at least one or two alts for most of the version, but the others usually get left behind after a month or two. 9. What is it about GoS that you like enough to keep playing (other than the other players; talking about the game itself)? It's fun, and doesn't have to be too time consuming, even though I always end up spending more time than I should. 10. What is your favorite color? Silver of course. Just kidding, Blue.

I got the email about a new GoS version and thought I'd check it out - I haven't played it in the last 2 or so years, at least. And I'm impressed. Impressed enough that I've been playing for the last 2 hours, and having fun 1. How long have you been playing GoS? I think I started playing in 2007, and then I stopped in maybe 2009. 2. What starting class is your favorite and why? Channeler, choosing what weaves to specialise in always was pretty cool. 3. What battle stats (damage, accuracy, speed, etc) do you tend to use the most? Least? I always liked taint. Speed, and stun, are good too, and it's always fun weighing high speed against high stun. 4. What's the favorite new addition to the game in V7 (or new since the last version you played, or just favorite if you're new to the game )? Combining weaves, such as Fire and Water. Very cool. I hadn't seen that in the last version I played. The ter'angreal and Wise Woman feature is neat, although I know it's more a modification to the talisman feature than a new one. I like that there aren't talismans any more and you can actually equip the ter'angreal on their own. 5. What's the biggest thing about the game that you think needs improved on and why? Mostly things that help with usability: be able to repair gear while they're equipped, be able to see item stats/bonuses within the equipment page itself so that it's much easier to plan a new equip set (even more awesome if simply hovering over an item brings up item details), be able to access Businesses and Bank more quickly than by going through World>Businesses/Bank 6. If you could add one new feature to GoS, what would it be? Auction house. I play MMOs mostly because I love being a market snipe and a manipulative capitalist. 7. If you could remove one current feature from GoS, what would it be? Traveling times. I'm not sure why that was ever necessary. I understand and appreciate stamina cost, but I'd like to be able to instantly get from place to place real-time wise. 8. How long do you typically actively play a version? Highly variable, dependent on real world factors. 9. What is it about GoS that you like enough to keep playing (other than the other players; talking about the game itself)? Creating and refining equip strategies and testing them out in duels. I've always liked how almost every equip strategy has a weakness and a strength. That was always the defining feature of the game for me. I used to *love* playing market ninja back when transferring items between characters involved putting them up for sale on the market for peanuts. I got quite a lot of good weapons and gear out of it Definitely disappointed when I couldn't do it anymore. 10. What is your favorite color? If it's a dress, I'll wear red.

1. How long have you been playing GoS? I remember it was the year I graduated, 2006. I believe that was the first "official" Craig's version, even though I might have missed previous betas. 2. What starting class is your favorite and why? Wanderer - it used to be the class that favoured bows usage, though not anymore, and I used to love bows. Now it's Woodsman because it gives good poison bonus, my fav stat. 3. What battle stats (damage, accuracy, speed, etc) do you tend to use the most? Least? Poison. Don't ask why, I got into liking it a while ago and now i favour it for no real reason. Lately I've started using Stun trying to oppose Speed, but with modeste results. 4. What's the favorite new addition to the game in V7 (or new since the last version you played, or just favorite if you're new to the game )? Professions, even though not new, have been made really playable only in V7. I think they are nice feature, with lot of potential improvement. 5. What's the biggest thing about the game that you think needs improved on and why? NPC battles. I went on at length about the reason somewhere else on this forum. 6. If you could add one new feature to GoS, what would it be? Economy. Based on current professions, with interactions made possible between them, and reintroduction of resources (but differently from the last time). 7. If you could remove one current feature from GoS, what would it be? Market. It has no use, it's a good deal of coding we could get rid of. 8. How long do you typically actively play a version? According to the latest uplevelling patterns, I play up to level 30, perhaps 40. 9. What is it about GoS that you like enough to keep playing (other than the other players; talking about the game itself)? It's WoT-related. 10. What is your favorite color? Blue

1. How long have you been playing GoS? I started in Autumn of 2006, in what came to be called the Gold Buggy Version, and I stuck around through the Fun version and the Breaking. I think I played 2, maybe 3 rounds of the Breaking before giving up. I came back again when you took it over, and I think I've played in each of your versions. 2. What starting class is your favorite and why? Channelers, even though they are always broken somehow. I guess because Jenlyn has grown on me so much at this point, even though I almost never use her as a persona anymore. For example, I don't PM other players "in-character" or role play on the clan forum with her anymore, although that might change soon. Someday, channelers will be cool without any glaring faults. I just know it. I do. 3. What battle stats (damage, accuracy, speed, etc) do you tend to use the most? Least? I like straight damage and accuracy to amplify it. I'm kind of blunt that way. Stun is fun too, because it's almost like a cheap form of speed, so if I can hit you REALLY hard, and do it a few times in a row, it makes me smile. I probably use poison, luck, and wound the least because I do nto understand them. Poison rocked in Craig's versions, but it seems to be a lot weaker now. I dont' avoid it, but I dont' seek it out. Luck and Wound are new to me, I guess. I play this game on the side; it hasn't hooked me back in yet, so I haven't really read the wiki and delved into it all that deep. I just ask Fearless and King Richard how stuff works and what stuff does, and go from there. Some stuff, I havent' asked about yet, like Wound. 4. What's the favorite new addition to the game in V7 (or new since the last version you played, or just favorite if you're new to the game )? The weaves are so much cooler than they've ever been before! I love the customization that's available! 5. What's the biggest thing about the game that you think needs improved on and why? Clan warfare, because it has little point and great potential. 6. If you could add one new feature to GoS, what would it be? A set of ending conditions for each Version, so that we would all play it until it ran it's course and the Wheel turned to a new Age, rather than just having it fizzle out as we wander away before returning all excited for the next beta. 7. If you could remove one current feature from GoS, what would it be? The new inventory system with the tabs, and the cumbersome repairing of the equipment. I spend too much time screwing around with my gear--unequipping, equipping, and bouncing between what's equipped and the whole inventory list. 8. How long do you typically actively play a version? I usually last until about level 30 or so. I should add that I don't take advantage of all the game features. I rarely gamble, and I dont' bother much with food or herbs or drinks. I tried professions for a few versions, but they were too time-consuming for the little reward they offered. I invested far more than I ever saw in return, and really, there's not much point to having the gold anyway, once you have the largest possible inventory. On a side note to that, I miss just having a mule that I could swipe stuff off of. I don't like transferring things between my alts using a middle man. It's a big hassle, so I pretty much dont' swap, which leaves me at a big disadvantage compared to those who run lots of alts and swap gear among them. 9. What is it about GoS that you like enough to keep playing (other than the other players; talking about the game itself)? I like overcoming little challenges, and for some reason, the whole progression from stone knife to top-level gear has never become old for me. I like the process, even though it is a grind at times. Another big plus is watching it slowly get better. this is becoming a cool game again. 10. What is your favorite color? Green. Why?

1. How long have you been playing GoS?a couple of Craig versions prior to Breaking (early Craig version was my first online game - I was still on dial-up then), and then I stumbled across Jenlyn in a Tor forum, and he tipped me off to your evolution of the game I think around the tail end of v2... 2. What starting class is your favorite and why?it used to be Woodsman as a nice match with Bows, but since v6 I pick either Woodsman or Wanderer for my main, but never seem to spend very many points on the skills for either of those 3. What battle stats (damage, accuracy, speed, etc) do you tend to use the most? Least?those three mostly, but definitely more open to defense% and block now, and hoping this round doesn't devolve into a speed-freak competition. I never use taint (on my main), and have avoided poison in the past (I like a "clean" fight ), but since the new Hunter class has poison in the passive skill, I may end up using it eventually... 4. What's the favorite new addition to the game in V7 (or new since the last version you played, or just favorite if you're new to the game )?Haven't really stretched it out yet, but liking the potential of the new weave system. 5. What's the biggest thing about the game that you think needs improved on and why?I used to be able to spend time browsing for gear, testing gear combinations, etc when I wanted to, but then just blast through turns really fast when I needed to. Partly due to the new systems for ter'angreal (only combine in town) and weapon degradation (repairs), the MUCH more frequent trips to town have made the pacing of the game a little distracting for me. If I have a couple day's turns to catch up, it takes hours now, where it used to take less than 30 mins if I was in a hurry. This will improve as higher level gear shortens battle length, better mounts speed travel, etc, but I just can't shake the feel that things are dragging a bit. Also, from a story standpoint, it feels a little odd that I seem to find about 8+ ter'angreal for every 2 mod'd pieces of gear and every 1 clean piece of gear - kinda feels like I'm stumbling around Rhuidean before Rand wrecked the place and Moiraine cleaned it out. 6. If you could add one new feature to GoS, what would it be?a "strip nekkid" button for unequipping all gear for repair would be awfully handy, and some way to see the equip pt number for the repaired gear BEFORE doing it. 7. If you could remove one current feature from GoS, what would it be?maybe travel time between locations? like someone else mentioned, the 'costs' of stamina, feed for mount, etc, make sense, but removing the page load-delay timer-page load would def speed things up a bit... 8. How long do you typically actively play a version?as long as I can, normally, at least until the higher-lvl players drop off and there's no one to compete with for XPs, rank, etc. 9. What is it about GoS that you like enough to keep playing (other than the other players; talking about the game itself)?several things - internet play to bring in folks from all over, the challenges of building effective gear sets and competing for towns and rankings, and the (slightly diminished) flexible time necessary to play the game and stay competitive. I work two computer-centric jobs, so 6-12+ hours a day parked at a keyboard makes games (like Warcrack) that can soak up enough time to be considered a third job really not appealing to me. 10. What is your favorite color? Silver, or maybe Georgia Red Clay ;D

I knew you'd like the Cheeto's idea. As for the 'Strip Nekkid' button, is it possible to just unequip, but leave the items in the brackets? Then have a re-equip button. (I couldn't think of a clever name for that button. 'Gird thy loins' if you wanna go biblical. ) I know you said it would be too hard to just repair while still equipped, so maybe this could be a solution. And besides, it'd probably be hard for the blacksmith to repair your armor, while you're in it.

Yeah, don't know about Cheeto's, but I do have a whole section of my To Do list for V8 called 'Convienience changes", little improvements that just to make things easier on the the players. Got something in there to address the repair issues.

That's great, Tim, because over the last couple of days, I've really felt burdened by travelling, unequipping, reparing, re-equipping, selling, then travelling back to the wilderness only to have to return to Tar Valon within a couple of minutes and do it all over again. I think I can put my finger on a big reason why I quit each round.

1. How long have you been playing GoS? Not quite sure. 2 or 3 versions before the gold buggy version I would say. 2. What starting class is your favorite and why? Channeler. Should be obvious. I'm the M'hael I also like making a true aiel. Armsman class, spear proficiency. 3. What battle stats (damage, accuracy, speed, etc) do you tend to use the most? Least? Mostly straight attack %. Speed, accuracy and dodge are secondary and usually spread out randomly between them. Least, Damage Self. And Taint and Poison. Those are the tools of the Dark One. 4. What's the favorite new addition to the game in V7 (or new since the last version you played, or just favorite if you're new to the game )? The new weave system! Awesome! 5. What's the biggest thing about the game that you think needs improved on and why? Battle gifs! And the battle page in general. Its the most used page, and its the most blah! 6. If you could add one new feature to GoS, what would it be? Clan stuff. More ranks has been my biggest one for a while now lol. Also, CONTRACTS! These would work like quests, but only be available to clan leaders. The leaders could make a contract to(submit a quest to) any of their allies to get a certain amount of wins for them in the area of a chosen town. If contract is accepted, it would be as if the contracted clan were supporting the contractor in that city for the duration of the contract. Once the contract has been fulfilled, the agreed upon price would be subtracted from the contractors clan vault and added to the contracted clans vault. The support of the contracted clan in that town would also revert to what it was before the contract was accepted. 7. If you could remove one current feature from GoS, what would it be? The bias against channelers of course. Its not fair. In the books all channelers are overpowered 8. How long do you typically actively play a version? At least until my levels in the 40s or 50s. Sometimes longer. Never past the start of the beta for the next version. 9. What is it about GoS that you like enough to keep playing (other than the other players; talking about the game itself)? Its the best WoT based game out there. Plus I like the people, I like being M'hael and I love making the graphics for the game! 10. What is your favorite color? Black, of course.

OK, so after reading Edvar's post, one correction on my entry - Damage-To-Self is definitely my most-avoided stat - so much so that I'd even forgotten it existed when I answered before...

2. What starting class is your favorite and why? Channeler. Should be obvious. I'm the M'hael I also like making a true aiel. Armsman class, spear proficiency. True Aiel would be more like the Traveling People... So you're a pacifist you mean?
