Actually, we should probably just change the word 'talisman' to 'ter'angreal'. It would be easiest, plus its more WoTish. There may be other purposes for Ter'angreal in the future, but you are right, what talismans do in GoS can only be explained as ter'angreal in the world of the WoT.

Except ter'angreal doesn't fit for what talismen do either, as they are directly tied to items while ter'angreal effect the user directly, not the item. Really, the closest thing to talismen effects from WoT are weaves to create ter'angreal, effectively turning the item they are applied to into a ter'angreal with those abilities. Doesn't make sense to carry around one use weaves though. Then again, a lot of the things in the game don't make much sense.
Truth me told, the talisman thing really bothers me too. The problem is that really the concept behind the talismen doesn't fit in the WoT world, not just the name. However, talismen are a MAJOR part of the game and have been since the games inception. Taking them out would require major rework to the game system, taking out a big part of what makes GoS GoS.
This is a topic that keeps coming up. Perhaps we should start a thread purely for this issue and what to do about it.

Honestly, I voted almost exclusively for Clan/town-related things - as I think those are the most important for keeping the game going. Mostly, I'd like to see some more benefits for town ownership, and more stuff to spend money on (hopefully stuff that isn't related to towns themselves - maybe temporary boosts for clan members or some such?), as well as unique items. I would like some pants, though. Hugh feels kind of...exposed.
