Hello Global Chat!
I've noticed that the last few versions the use of the individual town chat boards has dropped dramatically. What activity there is 9/10 times is either an announcement about new items in the shop or someone displaying their battle results. My best guess for the reasoning behind this is that with the limited number of players spread out much better than in the past, it makes it harder to carry on actual conversations. Plus it makes for too many places to have to check if you are trying to talk to people
As a result, I'm ditching the individual town chat boards. Instead, there will be a new and improved global chat box that shows up on the Town page where the Town chat was.
This chat box will automatically update with new chats as soon as they are posted without refreshing. It will also display the last 200 posts from all players, reguardless of their location, ordered with the most recent post on top. The size of the chat box is fixed with it's own scroll bar to allow for viewing of all the chats while still being able to see all the links and info of the town. Basically think of it as a really light weight chatroom.
To warn you though, with the change I will likely be pretty harsh on anyone using foul language on the chat board. Before it was easy for others to simply bump the post off, but I don't expect or want someone having to try make 200 or so posts just to clear a bad one. I'll have to go in and manually fix it, which is a pain for me. Blantant spaming and multiposting for the sake of it is another thing I don't want to see. If I have to code a way to prevent certain members from using the chat board, I will. Else I'll just block your IPs all together. I'm not saying I expect problems, as I haven't had many like this in the past, but just felt like giving you guys fair warning.
Enjoy!
