I listen to audiobooks a lot, and I agree that the readers of WoT do a brilliant job. There was someone who did David Eddings great, too, but the ones you can get now are pretty terrible. Douglas Adams reading his own books is a treat, and Lorelei King reading the Stephanie Plum series is just hilarious, she does the voices so well! (I listen to books while I work, while I drive, and if I can't sleep. I might have a problem... lol)

i agree with reading Eddings, good stuff and i can most definitely recommend the complete Dune-series. That just might be one of the most brilliant series ever written (or that i read)
Don't know about audiobooks, never tried it. another tip, i'm reading the saga of the seven suns by Kevin J. Anderson. Brilliant stuff so far

Audiobooks are neat for long distance journeys - especially when you're driving. They help to keep you awake on the straight roads. I did like the WoT audiobooks too. The Seanchan accent was pretty convincing. The Song of Ice and Fire audiobooks read by Roy Dotrice are good stuff too, and while technically not an audiobook, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio play makes fantastic listening. Forgot to mention J. V. Jones' "Sword of Shadows" book series earlier. Way better than her earlier "Book of Words" trilogy - great characters, and very convincing world description. And Robin Hobb's one of my favourite authors, definitely worth trying. The Farseer trilogy and her Liveships trilogy are quite excellent.

Another teen book series that I thought was good was the Sabriel (sp?) by Garth somebody. Pretty good magic system in the world. It's Garth Nix, and there are 3 books. Sabriel, Lireal, and Abhorsen. Very good series to look into.

I've most of the series in Audiobook format on my ipod. I travel alot, so on boring long plane rides I start a book and then get hooked and can't put it down. 10 is probably the average. I've read/listened to Shadow Rising maybe 20 and Crossroads of Twilight about 5. The others are in between. The moral of the story is I need to get more audio books. Audio books of the WoT are great. For instance the scene where Elayne gets drunk and confronts Tom about his relationship with her mom is hilarious. The reader does an incredible job. If you ever get the chance you should try some of the audiobooks. That's how I first was introduced to WoT. I had to listen to them. The readers are incredible, and really bring the books to life, IMO

I just got the Song of Ice and Fire series in audiobook format, and all i can say is, i have NEVER found a better sleep aid before.
Seriously. These things should be available on prescription.
PS i do love the actual books. You know, the ones made of paper??

Raymond E. Feist novels are pretty good and although I am not the biggest fan of Stephen King, the Dark Tower series is amazing. At the end of the seventh book you will either love the whole series or hate and I think that is what I like about it the best.

Yeah the end really makes up for the some of the series. Pretty crazy ending huh? I wish George R.R. Martin would hurry up and finish the fifth book in the Fire and Ice series. It's really getting annoying how he keeps delaying it. It's very much like the break in between Knife of Dreams and The Gathering Storm.
