GoS V16 has come to a close. It was definitely an exciting age, with lots of new strategies and plans attempted. Some were successful; some were not. Some balance issues were found (as usual) and some bugs caused issues to the site (worse than normal unfortunately). We had a lot of old faces, a lot of new faces, and a lot of the same faces that always seem to turn up. There were some arguments and some fun had, but hopefully more fun than not. Overall, I call it a successful Age. But the Wheel keeps turning for us all.
And that unfortunately brings me to my next point. My life has gotten crazy lately. You may have noticed I've been more hands off than normal as the Age worked towards its end. Work has kept me pretty involved, so my mind hasn't been up for coding on the site when I get home at night. Weekend times fill up faster than you'd believe and my kids just keep getting older and I must find time for them too. Plus I've REALLY been enjoying actually PLAYING games lately too (just got a PS4 with FFXV over Christmas!).
All this adds up to one inevitable conclusion that I have sadly reached...
... I really need to step up my game and get off my lazy butt if I'm going to get V17 out for you guys at a reasonable pace!
I really have been slacking though, so I may have to scale back the level of changes that I have planned. I plan to prioritize balancing related changes and bug fixes first, then move on to new features as time allows. But I don't plan on allowing myself THAT much time or I'd REALLY start slacking.
So here's the schedule I have planned as of right now. Test site will open around the first week in February (either weekend before or weekend after the 1st). It will open for everyone at once since everyone had donor bonuses this age, but bonuses will then go back to normal. After that, my plans is for the test site to run for around a month or so before the official launch. I'll hopefully have more details once the test site launches. In the meantime, starting tomorrow I plan on doing a series of countdown posts talking about the changes I'm planning for V17. Not exactly sure how long the countdown will go, as I haven't made a cut yet of what things are going to make it.
Wish me luck and Go Team!
