Better late than never, right?
Since I announced these in V15's CD, I've made a few tweaks to the system. A lot of it was figured out as I coded it, hence I haven't posted this sooner. The basics are the same though: Support quests are quests set by clans requesting help earning Ji in a selected city. This allows non-clan members to contribute to the cause and earn some cash for their troubles. Horray Mercenaries!
So here's how they work. Any clan leader (or clan officer in the city for the quests) can create a Support quest. The creator (quest creator, not "The Creator") must select 2 things: the total amount of Ji you are requesting and the amount of silver per Ji you're offering. The total Ji options are increments of 50 up to 250 (50, 100, 150, 200, 250). The options for the amount of silver per Ji range from 1-10. Note that the created quests will list the Clan as the offerer and Support quests will NOT count towards the total number of Own quests completed for the player that created it. The money for the reward will come from the clan's bank and will be taken out immediately when the quest is created. If the quest is not completed, the coin will not be refunded.
Once the quest is created, any number of players can accept it and begin earning Ji for the quest. The total Ji requested can be earned by a single player or divided among any number of players. The players will earn a reward for whatever amount of Ji they contribute to the cause.
For players who have accepted the quest, all Ji earned toward the city will go to the requesting clan instead of the clan you are in. This included Ji earned from NPC battles, duels, or completing other quests.
Ji will go to the clan AS IT IS EARNED and players will earn their portion of the reward as they earn Ji. The coin will be deposited directly into the player's pocket. Once the total requested Ji has been earned, the quest will automatically end. Players will NOT need to submit the quest, as they have already received their reward.
To prevent abuse, a few checks will be put in place.
- Ji cannot be earned towards Support quests by players in the requesting clan. Any player can accept the quest, but if you want to earn pay for the quest, you have to leave the requesting clan.
- A player may only have 2 active Support quests at a given time. Once they have accepted 2, they can't accept any more until one of the first 2 is completed.
- If a player accepts 2 Support quests in the same area, the Ji they earn will go to the first one they accepted until that quest is completed.
