Look. At the start of the age, we get a lot of Channelers. After all, who doesn't want to wield the One Power. But they are all the same. Channeler with Weave focus. It's boring. With that in mind, I am removing the Channeler class.
Put down your pitch forks and just bear with me here.
It will be replaced with a new "Healer" class, that will have very similar skills except for a few tweaks some of you might find interesting...
Now instead of having a Channeler class that's limited to just Weave focus, we have a Healer that can focus on any type of weapon. Including Weaves.
Weave focus is sticking around of course (I'm not crazy). But now, ANY of the starting classes can choose Weave as their focus. So we can have Armsmen with Weave focus or Darkfriends with Weave Focus. Horray for variety! Weave focus will still only be available at creation time, not as a new class later on though.
Before we had two 'classes' that meant you were a Channeler. Now we just have one: Weave Focus. Basically, anything that was specific to Channelers will now key off of if they have a Weave Focus or not. So only those with Weave Focus can be Aes Sedai/Ashaman and only they can have Weaves for items.
One other minor tweak was made to the Aes Sedai class's skills. Since I dropped Channeler, I gave Aes Sedai one of their old skills as a passive skill.
