During the wait between V11 and V12, some players requested a blast from the past. As such, my first version (meaning the first version of GoS after I took over coding) is now back online. gosv1.talij.com I warn you. This will only likely make you more anxious for v12, as this thing sucks. I can say that, since I hosted it.

I would just like to say that a blast to the past is very interesting. Nice idea, bringing it back. Fun to experience what all the old timers (jk) experienced.

You say fun because you haven't played around with it yet. You 'newbies' don't realize how good you have it nowadays!

Lol. No NPC's right? This might be a challenge. I normally don't do PvP until necessary.

I, for one, am not going to complain anymore about the bugs in your versions, Tim. You could always force us to go back to version 1! We have it SOOOOOO good!

Takes me back. Makes me long for tough choices like "Use which tool?"

That's not version 1 is it? I don't remember being able to do that until around version 4, or there about.

That's The Breaking, Craig's last version. Damek Kral, the Dragonmount leader, made one of those images with a pair of Nikes. It was pretty funny at the time.
It had some good ideas. I thought crafting was fun for the first couple of days.

I haven't encountered anything like that in V1 and I have been playing since it re-opened.

I haven't encountered anything like that in V1 and I have been playing since it re-opened. "Use Which Tool?" Is from the version before V1--a completely different turning of The Wheel, with a different Creator. We broke The Breaking, which is what that version was called, and most of the player base (which was huge) left the game. Tim took it over and eventually made it better than it's ever been, but what we are playing right now was just sort of a life support thing, where he made it breathe again and took out everything that was horribly broken about the Breaking. He's right; V1 sucked, but at the time, it was kind of a relief to have it, so we played it for awhile. Each version got a little better, with maybe a backslide or two here and there, until viola! The game is fun now, and the player base is returning!

Oh. Ok. That makes sense. I really love the game now and V1 is a cool retro blast to the past kinda thing.
