Been some discussion on chat about things being a little stale and needing a reset. Test site isn't ready yet (though progress is being made) and it's still probably ~3-4 weeks away from opening (I'm shooting for the weekend of the 23rd, but wouldn't be surprised if it slips a week). So we have some choices: 1. I can do a normal reset and you guys can do a quicky low level version. 2. I can make a few minor tweaks (double battles, faster leveling, etc) and you can have an accelerated mini version. 3. You can be patient and wait a few weeks. 4. ......... I'll leave it up to you guys. Will leave this poll open for 48 hours and if it's decided that you want a reset, I'll reset thing Thursday nite. Go Team!

I voted for no. This is the farthest I've ever gone in the game, and I would be upset to see it destroyed. People can make a new alt if they want to start over.

making a new alt wont change the fact that the status quo is pretty much fixed as it is

making a new alt wont change the fact that the status quo is pretty much fixed as it is Then why not just wait for the test site? The whole point of your reset seems to be to scrap other people's hard work so that your alts or clan can get a better advantage.

not really, do you carry on playing chess once you got a checkmate just for the thrill of taking pieces of the board, i haven't done that since i was five. i don't think any one will argue with me when i say that silver legion have won this round and by the looks of it not many people are even playing regularly any more. and i am giving the collective a break next round and throwing my lot in with the tower so my clans your clan everyone's hard work is going to get scrapped by tim when the test site opens anyway so why invest more time in something that in the end is going to be deleted. but i dont even agree with that point so you might as well disregard it. if i think about that too much then everything becomes meaningless the fact that all our work gets periodically deleted is annoying but the game needs it. stop riding the dead horse people we need a reset

Except for 1-4 apparently. But Tim did open v1 again, just for kicks. I recommend everyone take a little time to explore that one, just so we know how good we have it now. It appears degrading ji and unchecked Hordes have taken a toll though. i had no idea they still existed. i joined V1 to have a look. wow how things have changed. so cant we have a reset that runs on the test site address or something for the people who want one. that way everyone would be happy. unless i end up being the only person who plays there lol

Yeah. Back in the first couple versions, my hosting was setup so I could only keep 2 databases: one for the official site and one for the test site. Around V4-V5, I upgraded to allow for more (I want to say 25), so started keeping the sites around. I don't really want to try to maintain 2 copies of V9.5 though. If I was going to reset things, I would have blow away the current V9.5 and just used it's site and database. That's quick and easy to do. Setting up a brand new database, site and install takes a little work. Not a lot, but enough that I'd rather not have to do it. Rather put the efforts into getting the test site ready. Sorry! I'll try to have a consolation prize for you tomorrow though.

I can't believe the difference from version 1-5. Let alone, 1-9.5.

Yeah v1 was back when I played. Might have caught a little v2 but it is amazing how much the game has evolved. Wish the old guard would come back and check it out, they would be impressed.
