I've liked all the versions I've played. Ah well I'm rather easily amused I guess.

Hard to choose.....
Probably the first, 'cause that was what got me hooked on it, and when I first got into Malkier. Beyond that, the last one before Craig introduced the new Skill-tree. Back when I had my two swords...

As you can probably tell from my plans for the game, I liked different parts of all of them. If I had to choose though, I'd probably be with Kush on the one that introduced herbs. EDIT: Shouldn't this thread be called 'Second Favorite Version', since obviously my version is everyone's favorite?

well I liked the first version for a few reasons. First , it was the most active. Back then there was about 1000 accounts and climbing the ranks was quite entertaining. Leveling up to 300-400 was fun seeing how high you could get your favorite skills. Also , back then clan chat actually had new posts in it on a regular basis Also , I never liked the new skill tree. I like the idea of it , but I hate the actual skills and the way the tree is set up. But I wouldn't say that without also offering to come up with a new tree that is much more interesting and continues on to higher levels. We must get skills past level 45 , otherwise the game will continue to be a race to lvl 60 or so then hope for a reset.

im with kaldar about the skill tree(that the way its set up and that it ends at level 45). but i dont have a favorite version cuz i started on the breaking, no one was on it because the age 3 one was already out, and then i went to the 3rd age one but so many people had already quit and i was so behind it wasnt as fun as it should had been. so the new versoin will be the first version where i will start on a level playing field with everyone else.

It is the version that Kaldar is referring to. This game exploded in membership in Fall of 2006 with the release of what is now called the gold buggy version, because gold was so easy to come by that it was laughable. I mistakenly believed that that version was the beginning of the game, but having talked with Kushiel and Alaina Amnell and others who have played for several years, I see that there were other versions before that one, like versions with herbs, I guess.
The Buggy version preceded the Breaking, so I guess the Buggy version was V1, then there was something called the fun version, which was like the buggy version without as much gold, then the Breaking. man, the Breaking showed so much promise, and there was so much hype and buildup and expectation surrounding it. We formed huge alliances, getting ready to face what we thought would be Tarmon Gaidon, with tons of darkfriend clans taking over cities, as clan battles had been advertised on the forum. instead, it was a major disappointment. The Breaking was broken, and it sucked. It is too bad, because Craig obviously put a lot of effort into it, but it did not function well, and there were...vandals....who did not help matters much.
Light, I still think that version could have been SO cool, though. I'm just not sure how...
Anyway, I started in September of 2006, around the same time as Fearless, and I have to agree with him; I really enjoyed that version, tons of gold or not. I had a lot of fun in all the clans I played in back then. Of the five or six clans I was in, Winter's Heart was probably the quietest, and that clan rocked, too. Now, there aren't many players at all. Like kaldar said, in the buggy version, there were like, 1000!

The...vandalism...was actually so bad that it extended even to hacking one version of the game from another, so the creator of those earlier versions removed them from the server. They are no longer accessible, unless he gave them to Tim, and I doubt if Tim would want to admin them if he has them, although it would be nice to log onto Jenlyn again and weave Balefire at somebody. *thinks of some good candidates*

Nope. The only version of the code Craig gave me is the latest Breaking code. Craig's last version: www.gameofstones.net
