Updated my progress. NPC battles is coming along nicely, with just a few kinks to work out. Also firmed up some of the other plans I've been playing with in my head. Still not ready to give a firm date of the opening of the test site (you'll all get on it at the same time), but if I was a betting man I'd say we're within a week or so. All comes down to when I find time to work on it and how long things take.
Keep your fingers crossed.

will it be transferring to gos.talij.com? and would that mean I'd have to level all over again?

When V3 launches, it will indeed transfer to gos.talij.com. At that point, V2 will be moved and then like taken off line to make room for a V4 test site.

Test Site Reset!

Post by Edvar al'Given on Mar 20, 2009 2:36:21 GMT -6
Alright, as everyone may have noticed, the Test site was reset and some additions were made. Basically we added the ability to make Banners, or Flags for your clans. When you create your clan, instead of just choosing a name, you can make your clans insignia. Choose a flag style, a color, and finally a sigil. Your banner will be displayed in your clan page and in any towns you manage to take over. Until someone takes a town over, a default banner, actually belonging to that city or nation, will be displayed. Enjoy the new addition!

ooo very cool. aside from the white pixels around them, they look really good! the only way i know how to get rid of those irritating things is to go in pixel by pixel... though photoshop elements is pretty good at getting rid of them if you use... some ‘magic’ eraser thing *doesn't have it loaded on her lap top atm*
What program do you use Ed? out of curiosity.

I use Photoshop Cs3 for the most part, way better than elements. Its just that I made them to be a lot smaller originally and they looked real clean at that size. Don't worry, I'll clean them up for that size before the official launch.

Wow. RL has been keeping my pretty busy lately (I'm a new Uncle!), so haven't had much time to work here lately. However, my goal for the V3 launch (beginning-ish of May) remains the same. I'm hoping to get some serious work done over the next week, finishing up the majority of my planned changes. Once that happens, there will likely be a reset of the test site, so all can start from scratch with all changes in place. My efforts will then turn squarely to fixing any remaining bugs.
About a week before the launch, V2 will be moved to a new URL (no reset) and V3 will take the place. There may be some cookie related issues when this happens, but I'm expecting it (a big part of the reason for the switch BEFORE launch). V2 will likely stay up for a bit longer, until I need the database for V4 testing (ie. when RL finally calms down and I have time to work). No estimate on when that will be.
So for right now, please continue enjoying/testing the test version. Info I'm most interested in would be any potential bugs with the specialized classes, as I'd be surprised if there will be much more opportunity to test them between this next reset and launch. Only outstanding issue I know of with them is the images for Guards not showing (I know what the problem is, just need to fix it). So please let me know any concerns you may have about them ASAP.
Thanks a bunch! Go Team!

So far I'm having a good time playing V3 but I only wished some things were explained. Like what is special about some of the specialized classes? What do the sword or weave usage skills do? I've looked and have come up empty handed, and I think it would be cool if I knew what the significance of a General is as opposed to a Wolfkin before having to choose.
