Status Update: Haven't been around the site much the last week or so, with Thanksgiving and all, but I have been reading most of the new posts. Will try to get caught up on replies today.
Made a lot of progress on the first big change for V5 last night. Probably about 2/3rds of the way done with it. After that I'll move on to the other thing I want to make sure gets done for V5. Once that's done or mostly done, I may open the test site up. Depending on how long the first two take, I may throw in another semi-big change. Thanks to all the discussion lately, I've got lots of ideas for changes (enough to probably get me through V7 or 8; probably further as I know you guys will come up with more great ideas!)
Don't expect a test site too soon though. My tentative plan is to start a Countdown to V5 in early January (didn't want to try to make updates over Xmas cuz I knew that wouldn't happen as often as needed), and with the changes I'm making, I could streatch the countdown out a long time if I need to. The biggest factor in when the test site gets open will probably be how much time I get to work over Xmas.

Update: V5 is still trucking along. Finished with the first of the big changes this week, so that puts me one step closer to opening the test site. Still have at least on other big thing to take care of, first, but progress is progress.
Going to be gone for Xmas vacation for the next week and a half. I'll still be checking in here, but if you don't 'see' me for a few days at time, you'll know why.

Officially back from vacation now. Actually got back on last Thursday, but first my wife and the I had bad cases of stomach flu that kept us pretty occupied. Other than that my vacation was awesome though...
Gonna spend the next few days getting caught up on what's been going on while I was off and figuring out a plan of attack for the next big update for V5.
Also, I'm prepping for the V5 Countdown stuff, which I plan to start TOMORROW (Tuesday, January 5th). Lots of things to describe this time, but expect a lot more little announcements, instead of massive posts this time. The test site itself probably won't open til sometime in February, and I hope to keep information flowing steadily until then. Will post more info on the Countdown either later today or tomorrow morning. Expect the first post with info on V5 sometime in the next 24 hours. ;D

Horray for Countdown time again! Few things before I get to the actual V5 info. First off, the posts will be slightly different this time. My plan is to form the description of the changes in a way that once V5 gets closer to being out, I (or someone else if they want to be helpful) can simply cut and paste the info from here onto the wiki, killing two birds with one stone. I'll likely still add my own little comments like I usually do though, as the wiki ready data likely won't be completely coherent without some preface. I'll put the wiki-ready stuff in a quote box to make it easier to separate out later. A lot of the posts will be shorter this time around too, as I want to spread the info out. I also probably will jump around more, so if for instance this was back in V3 and I was talking about the classes, I wouldn't give you a week straight of nothing but class info. I'd give you a class or two one day, an npc or two the next, then some new weapon stats the third, before going back and giving another couple classes. Keeps you guessing a bit more as to what's gonna get posted. Anyways, on with the Countdown!

Been a while since I gave a progress report, so I figured I'd best bring you guys up to speed. Getting lots of the little and not so little things done for V5. Still have a couple bigger things to do, but they shouldn't be near as time consuming as all the class and skill changes were. I am to the point now where I'm starting to draw firmer lines about what will and won't make it in V5. Can't say I'm happy with leaving some of these things out, but I'll just have to make sure they're in for V6. Good news is that sometime soon, likely in the next 2 weeks, I plan to open the test site up to the donors. It'll open for everyone else a week later. There's still lots more to cover in the Countdown, finishing talking about the classes, as well as going over some changes I haven't discussed at all yet, but if I don't let you guys in soon then by the time testing is done it'll be Summer. So expect to hear a lot about things you'll notice right away on the test site for the next little while in the Countdown. Get those out of the way so I can start releasing some of the juicier details.

Test site reset.
We're in the home stretch now. Quests are now open (still have a few little things to add, but shouldn't break you). Mostly bug fixes left. Should have an announcement about the official release date soon!
