Please use this thread to discuss "Tears From Steel". It can be found for FREE on Tor.com.
I enjoyed the chapter. Nothing really eventful, but kinda set up where I think the story will go this book. Reminded me of the beginning of WH where Rand said he intended to cleanse the Source. Looking forward to a potential confrontation between Rand and Graendal, though I hope she doesn't die yet (she's probably my favorite female Forsaken).
Loved the opening wind as well. It seemed significantly longer than in previous books, maybe bordering on too long, but it still seemed to fit. Liked the wind blowing the wrong way too, as it showed just how bad the pattern is faltering.
No clue on the sword. Gonna guess it belonged to the false Dragon who fought Hawkwing (I know his name, but god knows I'll botch the spelling if I don't looking it up, so we'll just call him GA for now. ;D)
What did you guys think?

Loved the prologue, more. It was a short read, but did show how bad the pattern is coming apart. As for the sword I'd say it's Hankwing's sword "Justice" or so type of angreal or sa'angreal. But now I have to get the rest of the book, because Tim is bad, bad Tim, and let me know that the book is out in audio, bad Tim,bad, I've never done an audio book before.

Rand has a new sword. Says he recognizes it from his own memories (not LTT), and that it's fitting that he should find it now. It's only mentioned in passing in one paragraph, but still interesting.

Finally found the paragraph lol. Very interesting. He says he recognizes it, though they only recently found it again. This makes sense to me. He was there when Mat blew the Horn of Valere. He saw the weapons of the Heroes of the Horn. Most likely it was one of these. Possibly Artur Hawkwings sword Justice. That would be just sooo cool lol.
