well seeing as how there are useful tali combos for the second best weapons in each category that will last you until over level 100, the training time for the best weapon would have to be incredibly long... Okay, I see what you meant then, but all I was suggesting was something to make using a heron mark blade or an ashandarei special, because I feel like Fearless' original idea has some merit, but if we implement it the way he described, we'll ruin some of the cool dynamics of the game as it stands now. Even if a Toxic Combat Spear of Shadar Logoth is an excellent weapon, it still might make using that ashandarie seem cool if you can't equip it despite having the points for it, because you have not used other spears long enough to wield the ashandarei correctly. Or...maybe it wouldn't make any difference at all, really, but to essentially be a blademaster because I have enough points allotted to equip a heron mark blade doesn't seem as cool as having to hop through some kind of additional hoop, however lame it is, in order to use the sword, and the same for the other top weapons. It would mark the difference between a trained channeler and a wilder, maybe, or a hunter vs a true archer. Anyone can grab an axe like Lizzy Borden, but to swing some big heavy thing like a Warrior Borne Battle Axe, requires that it be borne by a true warrior--one who has developed some strength and skill with an axe. But maybe you're right--maybe it wouldn't actually add anything to the game. For me, it would add a bit of pride when I could equip the item, but that would probably fade in a short time.

Maybe you could do somthing where you could weild any weapon if you have the points but if you train in that class you would gain % damage, Or lose % damage if you haven't trained in that class.

ruhes idea here is a good one. Your training should enhance the ability to do damage, the ability to connect on hit, and maybe toss in soething like how quickly your damage goes down over the course of a fight.
think of it like this if you have never hefted a 100 pound axe you might get one really good swing off of that axe in the first 2 tries the 3 try youll probably throw your back out and end up injuring yourself.
if you practice with that axe on a daily basis you'll be able to swing it more accuratly and pinpoint places for excessive damage with it without tiring so easily.
but if you think of it this guy that picks up this axe on a daily basis can easily pick up a crossbow or maybe even a catapult but that doesnt mean he can hit you with the projectile because he is used to close to mid range combat. he has accuracy on close range yet he has hardly any accuracy on long range.
however i think i would watch out if he tossed the whole catapault at you he might miss you with that rock but that cat is sure to knock you for a loop lol

one more thing make it so that you can buy these skills as you progress through the game certain skills for certain lvls. make it like the stables and the blacksmith but make it a little shop called trainer

Originally, I was planning on having 'equipped skills' that could be bought and upgraded in addition to the ones you get for free with your class. There would be limitations on what skills you could buy (ie. only channelers can learn skills using weaves, can't buy a skill you get from your classes). In the end I cut it because I decided I wanted to balance what I have now without adding all this too. Definately won't rule something like this out in future releases though.
