Here are some ideas for how one- versus two-handed weapons could work in Gos. There are no real values here, just ideas for what kind of bonuses the two types of weapons would have.
Weapon Attributes
Swords
1-handed: Melee Damage, Agility
2-handed: Melee Damage, Agility, Critical, Melee/Ranged Block
Spears
1-handed: Melee/Ranged Damage, Agility
2-handed: Melee/Ranged Damage, Agility, Melee Block
Axes
1-handed: Melee/Ranged Damage
2-handed: Melee Damage, Melee Block, Critical, Agility
Bludgeons
1-handed(clubs): Melee Damage, Melee Block, Stun
2-handed(staffs): Melee Damage, Melee/Ranged Block, Stun, Agility
All Bows would be two-handed, of course.
The two-handed versions of the weapons would have more bonuses (Agility and/or Block) and would pack roughly half-again as much damage as a one-handed weapon, while costing no more than twice as much (maybe half-again as much?).
For example, let's say we have standard Tulwar (one-handed sword) and a Longsword (two-handed). The Tulwar's attributes would be:
Tulwar
Worth 319 Gold
21-25 Damage
+3% Agility
versus
Longsword
Worth 550 Gold
32-38 dmg
10-15 melee block
+6% Agility
+4% Critical
(This is disregarding Level requirements, of course)
The disadvantage of the two-handed weapon would of course be customizability. With two weapons you effectively get four Talismans, whereas with only one weapon, you only get two Talismans, making things like Taint and poison harder to use effectively.
So, what do y'all think?
