Ok, so I am new to this whole wide world and it seems quite interesting to me. However, I have no idea what to do aside from wander aimlessly around and pk ppl... is that the general idea of the game??? As a suggestion, a brief guide would be a plus to the "new-born" chars such as myself

Apart from what's already in the overview, what would you like to see in that guide?
Almon, if you're still around, since this is what you asked for when you started, and you've now been around a while, maybe you have some good input on what to include in this?

Welcome! We're currently working on building up a wiki with general information about the game. goshelpsite.wikispaces.com/It is still in the early stages of development, so feel free to post any questions that aren't answered there here and hopefully they will make their way onto the wiki. At this point, yeah, that's most of what there is to do. You can also join clans and take control of towns, gaining you hourly money payments and a slight defense bonus when defending in that town. Play around a bit and you'll likely find a few other thing. The changes for Version 2 of the game (the one currently available to play on the test site) are nearly complete, and then Version 3 work will begin (likely a few months out before you see anything of it) which will include among other things character classes and quests, which will give you a bit more to do. EDIT: And FYI, Tinto, I took the overview down and replaced it with a link to the wiki. At least on the test site.

EDIT: And FYI, Tinto, I took the overview down and replaced it with a link to the wiki. At least on the test site. Ah! I'd better remove the link to the overview from the wiki then, or it will be a vicious circle! OK, if I get my Christmas shopping done today, I can work on the wiki on Saturday! Hmm, that means I'd better leave the office now! Yay! Good plan! EDIT: I see you beat me to fixing this on the wiki Nevertheless, I do promise to work on it on Saturday!

And any plan that results in leaving work early is a good plan!

im not totally new to the games. played the breaking, the last version, and this alpha (mostly as Jahar) but how many battles does it take to own a town? everyone says something different, some 100, 200, etc. but in Tar Valon the Black Tower is only leading by about 30. so please help me understand!

Town control changes at even 100 wins. So the first clan to 100 wins gets control, then first to 200 gets control, etc. For example, at the time of this post, the standings in Tar Valon are as such: (just did the top 3) The Golden Company 709 The Black Tower 707 DIVAS 703
The Black Tower still controls the town because the reached 700 wins first. So now whoever reaches 800 wins first will take over control of the City.
Did it that way because I didn't want control of towns switching rapidly every couple minutes If it was purely most wins at the time, it'd be pretty hard for any of the top 3 to do anything if they took control as someone could quickly take it back.

Maybe not for the most popular towns, but there are plenty of towns around in the game that any clan can take

How do you see the clan standings anyway? In the separate cities i mean, not the clan overview as a whole? Or did i just start in a really unpopular city? Edit: Nm i got it, i was mistaking it for the overall scores (which i just came across)
