I think i've asked this before somewhere around here but I don't remember where it was nor if i got an adequate answer.
How does critical work ?
1) I attack with +75% attack strenth get a critical and get an attack worth 175 * 2 = 350 %
2) I attack with 75% attack strength get a critical and get an attack worth 100 + 75 * 2 = 250%
3) Some othher method of calculating i can't think of ?
It seems almost like number 2 , but later on at higher lvls i'm not so sure. The reason I ask is that i recently attacked someone wearing defensive gear and my normal attack did around 20 damage , I got a critical and it did around 40 damage. I would have expected much higher if it was calculated like number 1 above.
And crushing force , what is that all about ? Only thing I can guess is that it acts like unblockable but i'm not sure.

Anyone ? Anyone ? It has been told to me that critical simply doubles the amount of damage on a hit regardless of the strength of the hit and that seems the closest explanation i can find. Still no idea about crushing force though.

Sorry. Thought I had replied. Must not have hit post. My bad.
Crushing force is identical to critical. The percentages are even added together. If you have a critical hit, it simply doubles the amount of damage done before defense is taken into account.

I appreciate you answering me Tim although I must say I can't understand how your interpretation can be correct.
What I have noticed is this ........ if i am normally doing around 20 damage on a hit and get a critical I do around 40. If I am not doing any apparent damage and get a critical I either do no damage or maybe 5 .........
By your explanation if i am attacking with ranged damage 40 + 40 % and do a critical hit my damage should increase by around 55 points whether I am doing 0 or 20 damage on a normal hit.
It seems like critical is doubled AFTER defense is taken into account rather than before.

I think that Critical is unblockable

kaldar: It appears you're right. I misread the code. Damage is multiplied after defense is taken into account (and right before your own defense gets set up for the next turn, hence my prior mistake).
Delamon: No, criticals are not unblockable. The 2 are completely unrelated.
