It would be really handy if you could destroy an office and rebuild elsewhere if the need arose. Still have the limit of six, still cost full price to build new ones, just have the ability to destroy/toss one away and create a new one somewhere new. The usefulness of/needs for offices shift, sometimes drastically, during the round, and it would be great if we could adapt to this. I don't /think/ this could be exploited - it'd be costly, and the time to produce effects, and their relatively small amounts, makes it impractical for any short-term abuse. Maybe let the costs for new offices beyond the six keep increasing at the rate applied before the limit - each offce gets progressively more expensive, even though you still only have six functioning to balance things if need be...

I'd like to be able to sell them, rather than just destroying them. The displayed value of the offices is already half of what you put in. Maybe sell it for the displayed value, or even half of that. That way you're not losing everything.

Agreed, this was one of my rambling novel suggestions somewhere, I think the idea is bonza!

I suggest destroying them because the limit of six per player is there for good reason, and anything skirting that will have to have a relatively discouraging cost to keep it from being abused... And, really, offices aren't /that/ expensive to begin with, especially when they're limited by player Ji. They aren't hugely effective until later in the game, anyway, when coin is easily had...

I would have just liked the option to sell my businesses, in TV, before the horde destroyed it, but either way works! I would have liked to have the option to destroy my businesses in Emond's Field, so I could have built them elsewhere.

Glad you brought that up, Shylah. Until you mentioned city destruction in the Last Battle, I was ready to just say "I see no problems with the idea of selling businesses". But if you just sell everything right before a city is destroyed, it kinda takes away the punch of losing a city...
Maybe I could add selling of cities up until the Seals start breaking. After that, you're locked in where you're at.

I don't think it's the other businesses that's the issue, it's offices ... unlike regular businesses, these are actual tactical buildings that can be used to influence city rule, but once you have 6 right now, you're done, you can't sell the office in one and open a new office in another to continue playing that side of the light vs shadow game.
I see no problem with the "destroy office" option, that wouldn't provide any bonus even during LB right before a city goes under, would it?

This is actually a big problem for shadow players. Once you capture a city, offices become undesirable, as beneficial actions cause positive alignment shift.

Why would you need to sell most business? Most of them are only available in 6 specific cities. That would only leave, what, Gardens and Shop stalls that could be moved, wouldn't it?
I could go with Offices being locked down with the Seals breaking - makes sense...

I also agree with the lock down with the seals breaking. I've only ever wanted to sell a business once or twice, but that was because I bought it to have it, then decided I didn't want it anymore because it was annoyingly in front of the business I actually did want. ie Gardens are always in front of Mines when you click on the business page. But I can see that perhaps at the beginning, you don't mind upgrading a business in a city, then realize an enemy is going to own that city and would rather move it to the only other one available if you don't want to support that city by upgrading it more. Also, a thing to note Kev, some people don't always buy all six of a business. Instead, they only have a couple in the cities they control or that an ally does. So they actually have more than one extra option.

I don't know. I've heard wild stories that it's done though.

Well with 24 cities, there are 8 each for farm, mine, and shipping now. So you COULD want to move those around too. Offices are the ones that are most likely to be wanted moved, but figured it wouldn't be hard to add the option for all of them. Just need to apply some restrictions.
