I am joining late, jumped in and voted, and did not read all the excellent discussion, although I sort of skimmed it and deduced that a bigger map (my first vote) is a big deal to code, so that's cool if it stays the way it is. I also voted other, and this is a small thing, but could we change Ebou Dari to Altaran? I'll go read this thread now.

For a faster way to spend turns, how about just an option to skip the play-by-play in the duels, something we can turn on or off? Or like, have it instantaeous, but with the option to expand it and read the details, like in Castle Age? I'll go read this thread now.

dang, I tried to edit, but it looks like it came out as an edited quote or something weird like that. I'll reiterate here: For a faster way to spend turns, how about just an option to skip the play-by-play in the duels, something we can turn on or off? Or like, have it instantaneous, but with the option to expand it and read the details, like in Castle Age?
Also, the reason for this third post (trifecta! Yeah, baby!) is to say that I don't think the game has any glaring defects now, nothing that absolutely has to be added, altered, or removed in order to make it a really cool, playable game. We just need more players, and I am sure they will come if we keep spreading the word. I've always been quick to point out what I see as flaws in the game or things that could seriously use some implementation or improvement, but I have to say that at this point, you seem to have a fully-functional, awesome game that can either be played quite casually or quite intensively. That's a great balance! Let's focus on getting more players in, and then we can have a better perspective on what is working and what needs to be changed. Just my two cents...

Jenlyn, for this to truly happen, two things need to happen. First of all, I need to make an advertisement I have a hard time with this because I always want to reach too far and get frustrated lol. I have these great visions of what I want to do for the ad, but it ends up being a bit to complex and my time has been limited the last few years I may have time this version though, because I've been thinking of an awesome one for a while and it might be possible I imagine entering the Eye of the World or something like that, something with a well or tunnel in it. The camera would enter, then rotate above the well, facing down, then it would shoot down and through different pictures of GoS. Eventually it would get so fast it would blur into white, then fade into the final ad pic with GoS and the link on it. Second, you don't have to wait on me, everyone needs to pitch in. Invite your friends, post a link and a brief spiel on your facebook, put up an ad at your local library with the link. Thats the only way we'll build enough more players. Unless everyone pitches in, we won't be able to get a significant increase in players!

I've certainly tried to get the word out, and I have succeeded in bringing some players in/back, but I can probably do more. What brought me here was just a banner ad on Dragonmount years ago, and I know I'm not the only one who was lured here by it. Any ad is better than no ad...

I like the map size as it is... what might be more interesting is to have a multiplier for clans... more specifically, the larger a clan is, the more ji is required to control cities. I wouldn't make it unbalanced, but it'd be nice to see more clans control portions of the map. Its a bit unfair that 1/2 the world is controlled by one clan lol. Now if theres 24 members in one clan and just 1 in another, its fairly obvious that 1 had better REALLY be working hard.
