Whoa! I'm not gonna lie, that's pretty awesome. Never seen that happen before. Without seeing your stats, I would suggest more damage, +dmg% and accuracy. If you want though, you can send me your stats in a PM in game and I can make sure that's what you need.

Merchants Guards also have really high defense, so that could be part of it too.

I am also having the same issue, doesn't matter what I do I'm doing either no damage for less then 10 for the whole fight.

My current equip stats:
9-11 Damage
12-17 Block
-13% Damage
-22% Defense
1% Health Gain
+4 Accuracy
+10 Dodge
+5% Bow Damage
-10% Sword Usage cost
-5% Bow Usage Cost

My full  stats:
12-17 Damage
12-17 Block
-10% Damage
-20% Defense
3% Health Gain
+5 Accuracy
+11 Dodge
+2-4 Sword Damage
+5% Bow Damage
-11% Sword Usage cost
-5% Bow Usage Cost

You need to get rid of the -10% dmg and get it back into the positive side. Also, more raw damage would help quite a bit.
