I've just found an darkfriend ogier. There are much of restrictions for wolfbrothers (I don't know why there are Aiel, channelers and Atha'an Miere), but there are no restrictions for ogiers to became darkfriends. Some people think IRL ogiers can't be. Do you think there should be such a restriction?

hmmm... perhaps not on purpose, from what I recall they tend to be very open about everything, but then again, the ones across the sea in Seanchan lands are body guards, and VERY fierce warriors (think of Hunters in Halo) nearly indestructible in their beetle like armor... I dont know that they COULDNT be darkfreinds, and be formidable opponents as well, i just do not see the Ogier over on this side of the ocean doing so due to their seclusion. Perhaps among the body guards from Seanchan. Then again, dark friends can be from anywhere, right?
If NOT, i would assume that it was due to their secluded nature more than anything else.

Jordan said that Ogier could be Darkfriends:
Q: Why can't Ogier channel the One Power? RJ: Why can't fish sing? Why can't sparrows do the tango? Why can't I figure my own income tax? I'd really like to know the answer to that last one! Q: Can they be Darkfriends? RJ: Of course.

Rekinu, I wasn't talking about their character, just about their hypothetical nature connected with steddings, that prevents them to become darkfriends, mentioned in some early episodes (about 15) of 4-th age podcast. As we see, they missed one quote.
Tim, thank you, I never encountered this quote before.
