tim did u put a level limit on town points? ive notice that when i attacked someone 8 points from my level (using Dea alVeran vs. sandman murphy) i gained a point. then Dea vs. Jace Berelen (9 levels below mine) i lose a point. did u make it like this and if so, did u tell us? cuz i had no idea that was going on.

There is supposed to be a level limitish. The level and strength of your opponent is supposed to effect how many town points you get, similar to experience. However, there should NOT be a way to lose points. It could be as simple as a bug with my code not capping itself at 0. I'll look into this pronto, as it'd definately be something that has a big effect on gameplay.

Update: Did some testing and indeed I think that's what happened here. The code that calculated the clan's score increase did NOT check to make sure the value was a positive one, so attacking someone significantly below you would indeed lower your score. I have now fixed this issue though. From now on if you battle someone significantly below your level your clan's score in that area will not go up for it.
Keep in mind that while the score is displayed as whole number, it actually goes up by fractions and the number stored in the database keeps track of these fractions too, so you may face the same person twice in a row your clan's score may not appear to go up by the same amount, but it is. It's just that depending on the actual score, it may round differently.
I know this bug sucks and am sorry it happened, but I can't undo the damage it may have done to some of you. No way to know which clans were effected how much, so I'm not going to change any scores. It's fixed now and well just have to go on from here.
Good catch, Alseen. This code change was made before I even opened the test site for v4, so none of us noticed while testing.

Sound be around 10 levels below, but how heavily equiped you are also plays a factor.

i attacked someone 8 points from my level (using Dea alVeran vs. sandman murphy) i gained a point. then Dea vs. Jace Berelen (9 levels below mine) i lose a point. I noticed the different resulting town points from hitting these two (with an alt around same level, at the time) - sandman is equipped "heavy" and jace is "light" - this weights the resulting points just like level difference does - would get like 4 pts for sandman and only 2 for jace, or something like that. I knew that 'equipped' rating factored in, but I never noticed how much before.

so what counts as Light, or heavy? is it the EQ they use or how many points?

it's based on the equipment somehow, I think - I forget the specifics. Ummm, Tim? help? Is it equip points, or combination of weapons or defense, or?

Equip points.
Heavy >90% used 90% used > Average > 60% used 60% used > Light
Can't remember which way the boundaries go (as in is exactly 90% heavy or average) without looking it up. Might say on the wiki.
