This game sucks, I mean come on TIM you got the code to V1 Take Two , that was the only GOOD Version of this Game EVER! In that Version the Game actually grew but well it seems you are more worried about kissing Ed Givens ass than making a good game (say something please I got your IP's and the know how to make your lives hell, please mess with me TIM, I am aching for a reason to delete you and this pathetic farce of a game) I see no real changes, no RISK, no way to KILL. WOT is full of death but sadly this game still offers no way to kill, maybe that's why there is a player base of 50 players tops? HMFTW This game is dead.

Kissing my ass? Yeah right. What we do for GoS is almost completely separate. Tim is in charge of GoS. I happen to actually like the game, so I help him make it look better if I can. I know, I shouldn't pay attention to the rest though, the way I hear, its almost an echo of the warofempires forums. Except there, you complain about cheaters. Here, you threaten to be one. I like this version of GoS. If you don't, just don't play. No ones forcing you too.

Daved, how would killing other people's characters improve this game? everyone would LEAVE! there would be like one person left but then there would be NOTHING to do. so if u come up with a way to kill characters so that people would actually like that idea, please tell us.

something minor I've noticed - when you click on a char's name to go to their bio page, sometimes the location info at the very top says "traveling..." from/to even though the person is offline.
the ones that I've checked, the person is actually at the "traveling from" location.

This is always the case if you log off when you are travelling. You will be displayed as travelling from x to y, but if people start clicking nearby, you are still in x. (This is the case also when people are travelling and are online. As long as you travel, you are displayed as being in the from location, and can attack and be attacked there)

Exactly what Tinto said. The reasoning behind this is that otherwise no one would be able to hit you while you're traveling, so you stay in the from town until you 'arrive'. The reason you stay traveling until you log back on is because the call that changes your location in the database doesn't happen until the next time a page loads for that character, so if you log out before traveling is done, you're stuck there until you're back online.

I had a hunch that logging out while traveling might have something to do with it. Random thought: Would there be anything for gameplay to be gained by not being attackable while traveling? That could make it possible to have a 'chase' where you're trying to run someone down, and have to guess which way they're headed and try to beat them there. (Granted, that wouldn't be worth much unless it was common to have several players on at the same time, and currently we all seem to be spread out pretty well.)

That sounds cool but I think we'd need a reason to chase after other players other than stealing money. Maybe we could make up a "bounty hunting" system, by which a player can set a bounty on someone else and then who defeats the hunted character gets a prize. This way, if you got a bounty then you'd have to try and avoid attackers for a certain time.
Another idea could be to make up 2 new skills: sneaking and hunting. The first would allow you to conceal your location and the second one would allow you to reveal someone else's concealed location. Well this last one's just a hint and need to be developed...

For the first part, all I can say is wait I think you'll be happy in V4.
I just need to add that this thread is for V3 bugs, not future suggestions, so please keep your posts in the proper areas. We're getting a bit off topic here.

Here's one for you - withdrew a "Strong Talisman" from the clan vault. clicked on my inventory. "used" the tali, chose a bow, clicked on the link to pull up the stat window for the combination. hit "back", tried another tali, checked the stats. liked the "Strong" combo better, so I hit 'back' to my inventory screen. clicked on "use" for the "strong" tali. got a text error message saying something about 'the item didn't match' that inventory slot, or something similar. I reloaded 'inventory' and the "Strong" tali is no longer in my inventory, and no longer in the clan vault either. I never clicked "enhance", and the item I was test-fitting is still unchanged in my inventory. so, the "Strong" tali just went *poof*, out of existence... A couple folks in my clan have mentioned having items randomly disappear from their inventory the last couple days, but I don't know if this is the same thing that's happened to them, or not...

well, in theory, you shouldn't be able to sell it if it was withdrawn and physically in MY inventory... At least, I tested that out, and couldn't sell off something that was in my alt's inventory.

Just had something similar happen again - I "used" a "Diseased" tali, checked the stats on the new item, clicked "enhance", and got the same error message (posted below) that I saw before (previous post). This time, though, when I went back to my inventory, the modified item was actually created and there - no disappearing act this time.
error message:
"Error! Talisman name doesn't match the item at the location given! Please try again!"

Almordre, you probably double clicked enhance (or I know browsers like firefox used to have issues where they'd double click twice). That error message should pop up if you double (or more than double click enhance) though the good item should still get created.
That wouldn't explain the first issue though where it disappeared (unless Mat returned and sold it). I'll be sure to look into it.

Well, I work pretty extensively in software that uses the full range of click-doubleclick-tripleclick, so I'm fairly good about /not/ multi-clicking except when appropriate. I don't /think/ I did this time, but I'll watch extra close for that in case it happens again. I do use an off-beat browser (based on Mozilla engine), but I've never noticed any issues with click behavior before, in GoS or elsewhere. Or - am I earning punishment from on high for misdeeds or impure thoughts? I have noticed that you carry an "enemy" flag in-game now... have we been bad?
