I have mixed feelings about them making a movie about WOT. The series is my most favorite of books. and I always feel nervous when I find out they are making a movie about a loved book. It makes me afraid of what they will take out. Something that might seem small to others sometimes seems huge to me. for example I read Gone with the Wind well before I ever saw the movie and I was disappointed to learn that her children from the first two marriages where not in there. I felt they helped show exactlly how selfish and self centered Scarlett really was. and the ending for The Devil loves Prada just didn't have the same You GO Girl!!! ring to it as the book did. But I will gladly rush to the theaters (probably on opening night or weekend) and fork out my hard earned money to sit there for however many hours it is. I just hope the actor they pick for Rand is as good as the Rand that is in my mind.

Personally I hope they do it well - I'd rather see a film that cuts a fair bit out of the book and is good than one than tries to include everything and doesn't work

true but i would rather it have everything and be great. but thats probably not going to happen so i agree with hellsangel. unless they cut way too much out or ruin a part of the main story. like in eragon the grand city (forgot name) by the ocean became a mud village. not even close. >:C

Eh, I suppose I ought to throw my two cents in. I would personally love the movie (if they did a respectable job for it) My question is who would the cast for it? I mean...so many important characters, all of which were given great detail in the books. Not to mention all the extras they would need for the movie. (Which I would gladly volunteer for)
Here is a small list I have for who I think would do a good job playing the people in the movie.
Lan - Russel Crow Thom - Sean Connery or Mat - Collin Ferral Perrin - Daniel Cudmore Padan Fain or a forsaken - Edward Norton (He just always gives that "evil" feeling
Obviously I have left out a lot of important characters, but I figured these are ones you will see alot. I can not decide who should play our leading man rand, but I hope to hear your opinions.

When I started reading the series, I thought Marc Blucas (Riley, Buffy's boyfriend) was a perfect match for Rand. Tall, reddish hair, light eyes, and looks like a really nice boy, which I think is what Rand does, from the beginning at least. But I guess he's too old for that part now...

But what ever actors you use for the eye of the world will be too old by the time you get to later books, so if they make several movies they'll have to several actors anyway

Botox and plastic surgery should work nicely to keep everyone looking the right age The Aes Sedai will need lots of botox anyway, to achieve the ageless look... lol
